This takes place after the previous commission (I...Can't Win This, Can I?). In this scenario, Larkspur had rushed towards her foe...then rushed past him and kept going. She wasn't retreating so much as running around him/trying to think of a real plan (she's not a fool after all. She knows better than to jump on him and start whacking). But she didn't anticipate the lion throwing the victim he was holding in his hand, and with that precision. In the previous commission, the person in the lion's hand was vague/unidentified. When commissioned that the victim would slam into Larkspur, I suggested that the victim could be Cain and the client loved the idea. Cain would be mortified of having to be rescued, and being used as a projectile. Cain, this is why we can't have nice things.
