Sailor Moon: Venus and Mars Combo Attack

Next weekend is Anime Festival Orlando, and it's going to be a Sailor Moon palooza!  Several of the voice actors for the new re-dub/Crystal remake will be there, including Sailor Mars' voice actor.  So I'm working to put together some Sailor Moon art for the con!

I used to be a huge, HUGE Sailor Moon fan back when I was in Middle School.  Yet I hardly have any fan art of it because I was too young to draw them at the time.  It's kind of cool to go back to my roots and draw characters I used to be unable to even attempt.

So there are a few artistic choices in this picture I'd like to explain.  One, I put Mars and Venus together specifically, as well as gave Venus the bead belt as a nod to her Live Action counterpart.  I actually prefer Venus in the live action version, where she's more aloof and has trouble bonding with the other scouts because she had been alone as Sailor V for so long.  In that version, the only scout she becomes very close to is Rei.

Their uniforms are otherwise based on their first season version because of the remake - it's the outfit they wear when they're fighting the Dark Kingdom, and the version I think most casual fans know best (admittedly, it's the version I think of most because the Dark Kingdom and Dark Moon are by far my favorite seasons)
