This will go to scraps soon because of the atrocious ink job. Gah, MexMarco told me once that one must develop an inking style, kinda like an art style. Right now, I don't even have a style, it's just crap style. Enjoy this image for what it is, as I will not bother to change it, but any advice how to improve my inking skills in general would be highly, highly appreciated.

First of all, lemme say how much I LOVE your poses! Fave-ness!
Otherwise, as for inking tips, I obviously can't give you any tips because my attempts would probably be terrible. Personally, for what this picture is, I think the inking you used gives it justice - but otherwise, I'm not sure. I know that using a slightly thicker pen (ie/ a 03 instead of an 01) for outlines, and then a thinner one for shading can prevent the ink-shading lines looking too heavy and overpowering and dwarfing the outlines, but that's it. =3 -- BritChickie! I originally had Robin's mask a much lighter shade but it only consisted of a few lines and consequently it looked striped. It became that dark in an attempt to 'fix' the stripeness. XD Maybe I'll try outlining in a thicker pen than I normally use (I normally use 1-3pt, I think I used 1pt for this one, so I'll use 3pt next time
-- [link] Thankees!! I can't believe it's gotten this many favorite! =o I didn't think it was that good, but I did spend a lot of time on the poses. Maybe it'll stay in the regular gallery after all.
-- [link] So far you have improved greatly both art and inking wise.
If ink shading is becoming difficult, why don't you try to aim for variable width lines? Using those you can give a character's details more volume and realism, thus coming up with a better and a more polished finish. -- Good for the Neurons: VOTE JOE MEX FOR 2010! J. Raoul Author, Realist, Amateur Conquistador Thanks!! I've been doing a lot of practice with gestures and poses lately. You mean to do cross-hatching and the other inkshading techniques using variable width lines?
-- [link] How can you have no style if you have a crap style? Wouldn't that mean you still have a style? My brain hurts...
Kakashi: Here! Let me help you! *Raises a hammer* It looks fine Neo! Really! And it's funny too Kevin: WHEE!!! Croe: Watch out for that pyramid of popped popcorn!! *They crash through the popped popcorn making it swirl into a giant nova kinda thing* Kevin: Bloody hell we're in trouble!
